When you come to a Reiki session, you will be asked about your specific hopes and goals for the session. Then you will lie on a table fully clothed. The practitioner will place his or her hands on or just above your body with the intent for healing to occur and the energy begins flowing. You have the ability to decide whether or not you want the practitioner to make direct contact with your body.
Healing occurs for both the practitioner and the client as the practitioner becomes a clear channel for the Reiki energy. The Reiki energy knows where to go and what to do as it is being directed by a higher power.
Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method to improve health and enhance the quality of life.
Reiki is a gentle Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. The origin of the name comes from the word Rei, literally translated as universal spirit guidance, and the word Ki, meaning life-force energy. Reiki is non-intrusive and stimulates the natural healing ability of the body. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive.
If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.
