Congratulations on taking this transformational step in your journey! I'm thrilled and honored to be a part of it!
It's very important to me that yoga is accessible to all, so in this training, we explore a student-centered style of yoga that empowers our students. In addition to learning to teach in a classroom setting, we will learn to incorporate yogic practices into our lives and careers in a way that promotes our personal growth and shares the benefits of yoga with those around us.
If this piques your interest, I hope you'll join me and the dynamic team of guest teachers I have in store for our journey together. I always look forward to seeing who shows up for this adventure. It gets better every year!
You will be invited to a private Google classroom, where you will be provided with the training syllabus, and related materials. This will be a space where you can connect with the trainers, mentors, and fellow teacher trainees throughout our time together. The following books are required reading for the training, and can be purchased in any format (electronic or paper).
These can be obtained for $108 or less on Amazon. Please feel free to shop around for the best deals. Remember Kindle books and used books are often much less expensive. (We highly recommend the electronic versions of the anatomy books, as they are ¼ the price of the hard copies.)
Now that you know all about the Supreme Peace Yoga Teacher Training, is it for you?
While I believe there’s a training program out there for anyone interested in this work, this particular training is NOT for everyone.
It’s not for you if you:
On the other hand, you're in the right place if you:
"Supreme Peace offers an amazing teacher training program. I learned how to be a yoga teacher and so much more. It was a wonderful spiritual journey that gave me knowledge and power that I will use throughout my lifetime. I am so grateful that my training embodied all aspects of yoga. Our teacher, Jodie, is a wonderful soul who so joyously shares her knowledge and wisdom about yoga and so much more. It was an intense program but worth it. I feel prepared to teach and share yoga with my community."
What Can I Expect to Learn?
"I spent well over a year researching and exploring local yoga studios to complete my training before I attended an informational meeting at Supreme Peace. It took a one hour informal meeting for me to know this was the place that was right for me to complete my training. I had been practicing yoga for five years prior to beginning me starting a teacher training program and I can now proudly, and thankfully, say I have found my home studio and community."
I really want to, but…..
I’m worried I’m not ready for a teaching program: Many people worry that they aren’t ready for a yoga teacher training program either because they have not been practicing long or they do not feel their physical practice is advanced enough. While it’s important that you have an understanding of the basic yoga asanas, Supreme Peace not looking for people who have been practicing yoga since childhood or can stand on their head an hour a day. We are looking for dedicated, passionate, compassionate yogis who are serious about learning more about themselves and others.
I’m not sure I want to teach: You never have to teach a yoga class to benefit from this training. We can’t think of a better way to immerse yourself in a year of personal growth and in depth understanding of yoga practices and yogic living than to take this course. Jodie completed her teacher training with no intention of teaching yoga as a career. Although that changed for her, we know many people who only explore teacher training to deepen their practice. There will be assignments and discussions related to teaching students, but all of these can be adapted to meet your needs of deepening your practice.
Many people in complementary lines of work (i.e. educators, healthcare professionals, mental health professionals, etc…) choose to take yoga teacher training. Yoga enhances our ability to stay physically, mentally, and emotionally healthy, so we can be of greater benefit to those we serve. Additionally, integrating yoga into services like education, physical and mental health has been found to enhance the outcomes for those receiving services.
I’m worried about the time commitment: We’ve scheduled the training with you in mind. Classes meet for one weekend every 3-4 weeks, so they do not require you to dedicate an entire month or more of your life to the process. Additionally, this format allows you time to more fully integrate the materials and feel more comfortable and confident teaching than an immersion program. It also allows you time to build deeper connections with your fellow trainees. We hope that many of you forge friendships of a lifetime during this training.
In full disclosure, this training does require a lot of its participants because we want you to be the very best yoga teachers in our community. Because of that, we’ve built flexibility into the curriculum to allow you 12 months to complete the practice teaching requirements.
But what if I miss a session: No worries. If you do not plan to teach yoga, your fellow students and I will help get you caught up with notes and handouts. If you do wish to apply as a Registered Yoga Teacher with the Yoga Alliance, you are required to have at least 180 contact hours in your teacher training program. The Supreme Peace Yoga Teacher Training has been designed to exceed these requirements by approximately 20 hours for your benefit and flexibility. If you miss a few hours for extenuating circumstances, you simply need to go onto our private Google classroom for the handouts, and chat with one of your fellow trainees to get their notes and impressions on the training missed.
If you miss enough of the of the training program to drop you below the 180-contact hour requirement, you will need to schedule a time to make the hours up in one on one training for $50/hour.
It’s just not in the bank right now: Surprisingly, each hour of the Supreme Peace Yoga Teacher Training Program costs less than a drop-in class. We also offer flexible payment plans that allow for monthly or bi-weekly payments. We include a discount of $300 for early birds who register by 1/16/18 and an additional $200 off for those who pay in full by 2/9/18. That's almost 20% off tuition! Tuition covers the cost of your monthly membership to Supreme Peace Yoga from February 14-October 14 (a $864 value), because we want you to develop a consistent practice and deep connections with your teaching community.

About the Program
The Supreme Peace Yoga Teacher Training program provides personalized training to a small group of dedicated yoga students. We explore a variety of yogic philosophies and practices during our training by, so you can find your own unique style of practice or teaching.
You’ll complete the program knowing what types of students you are passionate about teaching, and be skilled in empowering your students through customized yogic practices. This training is all about practicing yoga in a way that is responsive to the needs of each student, rather than cramming each person into a set yoga mold.
Together, we’ll tap into the courage that lies deep within you, whether you know it or not, so you can live a wholehearted life that is not only, peaceful and serene, but also fierce and powerful. We will explore the happenings in the world around us, and learn to take our yoga off the mat. Using our yogic practices, we will spread love and light, AND we will move beyond that to address pain and inequity in our communities because this is where true transformation lies.
What if I don't want to teach yoga? No problem. This is a personal and spiritual development course. You'll learn as much, or more, about yourself, as you will about teaching yoga.
Supreme Peace Yoga provides a comprehensive, compassionate, experience of yogic learning in a peaceful, nurturing environment that lets you tap into your inner wisdom.
"I cannot recommend Supreme Peace and Jodie enough to someone that is interested in this Path. Her teaching and Studio is open to everybody and meets them where they are in life. She is truly a teacher with passion and heart. She wants to see all her students succeed."
"As scary as it may be to take the plunge into a program of this magnitude all I can say is, 'do it!' You will not be disappointed."
How has your life been transformed by this training this year? "The real question is in what ways has my life not been transformed?" -Renee
Those are some of the tangible benefits of this teacher training, but during my teacher training, I found the intangible benefits outweighed the tangible benefits. I look forward to providing an atmosphere where you will experience these benefits as well:
"This seven-month journey was incredible. We learned so much about ourselves and others -- a very individual spiritual journey with support from the group/studio community. I learned what it means to make a practice my own, realizing how to listen to myself and what my mind and body and spirit need while on the mat, which then transfers to real life off the mat. I was also touched by the responses I saw and heard from my practice students. The training has opened my mind to gifts and abilities that I didn't know I had, as well as increasing my appreciation for the gifts and abilities of others. This training came at just the right time…I highly recommend this training, even if someone thinks they may never teach yoga. The personal growth is priceless." -Hillary
Supreme Peace Yoga Teacher Training is an 8-month journey for yoga practitioners interested in living and teaching in this big, messy world in a way that is authentic and wholehearted. If you’re willing to learn to look into your life and the world around you and shine light on all the beautiful, broken, shiny, and tarnished places, then you’re in the right place!
"This is the most compassionate, nurturing environment I could imagine for Yoga Teacher Training. Jodie's ability to meet each of us where we are and consistently encourage us is unwavering. Each step I take through life is taken with a completely different view of the world. "
In addition to being a yogi, I'm also a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, specializing in working with survivors of trauma. I found yoga during a particularly stressful patch of my career . One of the primary ethical imperatives as a caregiver --whether you're a social worker, parent, teacher, or EMT---is that you first take care of yourself; otherwise, you're no good to anyone you serve.
The beauty of yoga is, it's universally beneficial. Not only did it help me take care of myself, after going through yoga teacher training, it helped me improve the services I provided by integrating yoga into my work with clients and sharing it with my co-workers to create a healthier work environment.
